Trogon Villa lies strategically between Bumthang and Mongar. It is about 142 km from Jakar and just 56 km from Mongar town. The region is a remarkable ecological haven, with altitudes ranging from over 3,500 meters at the Thrumsingla Pass to under 800 meters at Limethang, a journey that can be covered within three hours by road.

This dramatic shift in landscape makes Yongkhola one of the most biologically diverse areas in the country, earning it the reputation as the birding capital of Asia. Perched on this scenic stretch, Trogon Villa offers a picturesque view of rolling hills while being conveniently located along the highway. The choice of Yongkhola as its site is no coincidence, renowned for birdwatching, it also serves as a welcome retreat for travelers navigating the long and challenging Bumthang to Mongar route.

The restaurant offers a limited selection of cuisine that are freshly prepared using herbs that are grown in the lodge’s kitchen garden and has a taste of home-cooked meals. The Villa has a fully stocked bar with an assortment of imported and domestically produced liquor on the shelves.

The Villa is one of the few hotels in the country that does not serve bottled water to reduce plastic waste. The water provided is filtered using UV filters and serviced in reusable glass bottles.
